These presses exert high compressive pressure at a high temperature of about 150°C. Under this high-temperature molding, the styrene monomer part of the raw SMC material evaporates. GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester/Plastic) is a particular kind of FRP where fibers used for reinforcement are specifically glass fibers.
